polycellular blue is an exploration of the manufactured materials which saturate our environment, our food chain, our bodies. Iām interested in the ways in which industrial processes transform our perception of materials and their value.
The colour blue is rare in natural objects, but common in mass produced objects. This piece aims initially to engage the viewer with its structural intrigue ā rising from the earth or floor, exiting through the wall, inviting reflection on the beauty of that which is discarded and unseen.
